CEO of Fonte Capital Ltd Participates in the event dedicated to the establishment of the TAN Running Association

On January 30, 2025, an event dedicated to the establishment of the Turkic Alliance of Long Runs (TAN)—the first long-distance running association in Central Asia and the Caucasus—was held in Almaty.

TAN will unite marathon runners from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, fostering the development of the regional running community and promoting Turkic culture. Finishers of the marathon series will receive a unique medal and the status of an international runner.

The event brought together leading representatives of business and sports, united by a commitment to promoting running culture and a healthy lifestyle.

The event was opened by Galimzhan Yesenov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the "Courage to be the first" Corporate Fund and founder of the region’s largest annual international sports event, Almaty Marathon.

Saltanat KazybayevaRace Director of Almaty Marathon, presented the TAN project to the participants, highlighting its key goals and prospects.

One of the highlight events of the program was a discussion on "Experience in World Marathon Majors and the significance of the six star finisher medal," featuring the following speakers:

  • Aituar Koshmambetov – Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (VIII convocation) from the Respublica party, marathon runner, and founder of the running school "Alau.Pro".
  • Askar Yeserkegenov – Independent director Board of directors of BCC Invest and marathon runner who has successfully completed the entire Abbott World Marathon Majors series.
  • Yerzhan Mussin – CEO of Fonte Capital Ltd, who has finished 10 marathons worldwide, including four from the Abbott World Marathon Majors series.

The discussion was moderated by Valikhan Ten, CEO of KRIDA Fitness Club and a member of the Board of Trustees of the "Courage to be the first" Corporate Fund.

During the conversation, participants shared their experiences of running in the world's largest marathons, discussed the challenges of preparation, the registration process, and the role of sports in personal growth, self-improvement, and achieving goals.

The speakers also discussed the impact of major marathons on the development of sports, the popularization of running in Kazakhstan, and provided valuable advice for beginner marathoners.
